Riley Herbst is poised to make his mark on Dover Motor Speedway after securing the second spot on the front row for the Xfinity race on Friday. With a lap of 156.781 mph, he joined Brandon Jones in the pole position, marking his third career Xfinity pole and Jones’ tenth.
Herbst expressed frustration with the passing rules during qualification, but he’s looking forward to taking on the track again. Joining him on the front row is Brandon Jones, who posted a lap of 156.863 mph to secure his third career pole and tenth overall.
Justin Allgaier qualified in third place with a lap of 156.672 mph, while Austin Hill came in fourth with 156.060 mph. Sheldon Creed secured fifth place at 155.851 mph, while Kyle Weatherman achieved a career-best sixth place at 155.689 mph. Other drivers competing for the $100,000 Dash 4 Cash bonus include Jesse Love, Ryan Sieg, and Anthony Alfredo.
The Xfinity race is set to begin at 1:47 p.m. on Saturday on FS1, marking the 78th time Xfinity teams have competed at this venue. With so much talent on track and such high stakes, it’s sure to be an exciting showdown!
