Tomorrow’s Science Pioneers: A STAT Virtual Event

The annual Wunderkinds event by STAT showcases emerging stars in science and medicine as they embark on their careers. This year, past Wunderkinds will return to discuss their current journeys and share their most innovative ideas with the world.

The event will feature sponsor introductions from Lauren Averett Byers, M.D., and Koichi Takahashi, M.D., Ph.D., both from MD Anderson Cancer Center. Among the featured speakers are Nicole M. Gaudelli, Ph.D., an entrepreneur at GV who invented the Adenine Base Editor, a gene-editing tool, and Kellie Jurado, Ph.D., a professor at the University of Pennsylvania researching immune system response to viral infections in early life.

Bianca Jones Marlin, Ph.D., from Columbia University investigates the inheritance of trauma and stress biologically, while Siddhartha Roy, Ph.D., from Rutgers University focuses on ensuring safe drinking water access for all in light of the Flint Water Crisis.

The moderator for this enlightening and inspiring conversation is Nicholas St. Fleur, a general assignment reporter and associate editorial director of events at STAT. Don’t miss out on this exciting event happening at 1 p.m. ET!
