Scripps Sports reveals WNBA studio show lineup and plans for upcoming season

Scripps Sports is excited to kick off its second season of broadcasting WNBA games on ION. As a leading over-the-air network, Scripps Sports will air 43 regular-season games, which is the highest number among all broadcast partners. The coverage includes eight Indiana Fever games starring Caitlin Clark and Aliyah Boston.

In addition to the games, Scripps Sports will be producing weekly studio shows centered around its Friday Night Spotlight on ION, presented by State Farm. These studio shows will feature a 30-minute pre-game show with highlights from the week’s games, previews of upcoming matchups on ION, and stories from around the league. Halftime shows, as well as wrap-up and preview shows between games, will also be part of the network’s coverage.

Hosted by Larry Smith in Atlanta, the WNBA on ION studio shows will feature analysts Autumn Johnson and Meghan McKeown. Nicole Denne, Sr Dir of Content for Scripps Sports, will serve as the executive producer for the studio shows. The regular season is set to begin on May 14, with the first studio shows and games on ION starting on Friday, May 17. Most weeks, the studio show will air at 7pm ET followed by WNBA doubleheaders.
